Paris 3rd district - Brittany and Debelleyme streets

Rue Debeleyme bears the name of magistrate Louis-Marie de Belleyme (1787-1862), prefect of police under Charles X, who lived in this district for a long time. It is a semi-circular street which leads at both ends to rue de Turenne. It marks the location of King Henry IV's project for a semi-circular square known as "Place de France", which explains why some neighboring streets bear the names of French provinces: rue de Poitou, rue de Bretagne, rue de Normandie .
